The first thing you need to do is have a look through your current wardrobe and have a look at what clothes you still own that are way past there use by date. We all have these items of clothing that we refuse to throw away no matter how torn and tattered they are, they are like our clothing comfort blankets. If you cannot bear to part with these items then you need to make yourself a solemn promise that you will never wear them out in public again and will only wear them within the safety of your own home.
Next you need to look at what you got that although may not look to great on its own if it were to be added to with a different item of clothing, mix and match if you like, then it will bring it back to life. You will be surprised how many items can breathe new life when this method is applied. But again, you have to be honest with yourself and if something just is not going to work then you need to let go. This is the only way sometimes I'm afraid. The next step is to look at your clothes and look to see if they can be modified in any way to get them to look better. For instance you may want to go for a designer scruff look which can be difficult to actually buy for but by taking an old top that will serve no other purpose then you can modify it slightly to help to achieve the desired look. The same goes with an older pair of denim jeans, a few carefully placed rips and tears here and there and you have a unique designer look that even a celebrity would be proud of.
But then there are the other items of clothing, the ones that were a mistake from day one but we tried to convince ourselves that they were a good idea. These may be items that have only seen the light of day just once or twice but no matter how hard you try you just cannot get attached to them. There is only one thing to do with these items, and it ties nicely in with the next tip and that is to take them to the charity shop. But herein lies another trick, take your clothes to a charity shop that sits in the middle of a very affluent area, your clothes will be gratefully received as well as giving you the opportunity to look through some of the clothes that the well to do and more well off members of society have turned out. This may sound a little cheap doing this but you would be amazed at some of the beautiful designer clothing that gets by some people thrown out after such a short period of time.
The final piece of the jigsaw is the accessories that are needed to complete the look. These can be very subtle items such as a hat, cap, belt, bag or any kind of eyewear. Hats and caps are a very difficult thing to get right, they do not go with every outfit and they do not suit everybody. You need to be extremely confident that the look is right before you attempt the hat or cap look otherwise you could ruin your whole appearance. You can pick up a good quality belt or bag for a reasonable price if you shop around, the inter web is full of retailers who deal in designer leather goods and they will be as good a place to start as anywhere.
The crowning glory to what could be a wonderful look has got to be the eyewear. Body language draws us to instinctively look into someone's eyes as we are talking to them, and if you are able to frame your eyes and enhance the look of your face as well as your outfit you will be on a winning run. As with bags and belts the inter web is brimming with suppliers who sell discount designer eyewear at very good and affordable prices. To see what style of eyewear suits your face best I would recommend going into an optician or sunglasses specialist in your home town to get a good idea of styles to possibly look for.
So there you have it, hopefully if you take the above tips on board you to might be able to achieve that celebrity look but at a fraction of the cost of the real deal.
